About me...

Just for the fun of it…

 Meet the artist…

I’m a South Aussie girl who grew up in an artistic and creative family and was encouraged to draw from an early age.  I studied art at high school but like many of my class mates thought pursuing mainstream academic fields was a more prudent career choice.

Having a natural curiosity for people and the human mind,  I spent a number of years working within human resources and administration.  It was then that I decided to return to my love of painting.   The mix of these two joys, my interest in people and in nature is where I find myself happiest within my art.

The connection with nature and art was amplified the day my husband and I moved to New Zealand and experienced its magnificent landscape and sense of freedom.  Fast forward eight years and a return to Adelaide and it’s own beautiful light, I’ve continued to pursue my creative talents while still supporting myself with administration work.

My art is both an appreciation of all things whimsical and nature’s vibrant colour and patterns.   My favourite place to be is at my painting table suspended in time watching an idea unfold.

I especially love the versatility of acrylics and use these often in my work, but I also have a love of the subtlety of watercolour.

My goal is to create art that helps me celebrate the joy and wonder in everyday life and to share it with others !

Some things you may not know about me…

My father was a commercial artist for over 40 years.   He taught me to pay attention to the detail and look for patterns in life.

I have an Honours Degree in Psychology from the University of Adelaide following the completion of a BA in Communication Studies from the University of South Australia.

Many of my family are bakers and pastry chefs.  So it is little wonder I have an obsession with all things sweet and chocolatey and like to incorporate these into my art.

Owls also feature a lot in my art.  They represent symbols of wisdom, patience and beauty to me which make them irresistible.

I love yoga and meditation for tuning in.  Our cat, Orlando is a natural tuner and can always be found close by when I am painting.
